This is new series. Very different than anything I’ve read, but I wish I had more than one book, I’m looking forward to the second book coming out in Nov.

Lord Rhys Kilpatrick was once a soldier in the British army 125 yr ago, before he became the shape shifter named Al Fahl, which is a black stallion and the steward to Seth Aziz, the high priest of the Darkness and a Demigod Vampire. For years Rhys’ job has been to find people to join their cult or Per Netjer as they preferred to be called.

Gillian and her sisters loved Egypt and were raised there off and on while their parents did archaeological digs. They lost the parents over 20 years ago to the desert. After their mother disappeared their father spent the rest of his life looking for her but finally gave up and walked off into the desert to die. With their busy lives Gillian and her two sisters hardly ever got to spend any time together expect their trips to Egypt where they all had their own jobs to do. Gillian’s job was to find the grave of Lt. Rhys Kilpatrick to prove he did die 125 years ago and didn't abandon his army. What she didn't know was about the different realms and gods of light and dark. Rhys and Seth knew she was getting close to the portal to their realm, so Seth sent Rhys to either kill her for her knowledge or bring her in to become a part of their world. Well while Rhys and Gillian fall for each other quickly they had no idea that a Vision had been told that she will marry Seth. Rhys thought he could talk his best-friend and lord into letting him keep Gillian for his own. But with the Vision Seth couldn’t let that happen, so they were torn apart only to have to sneak around to be together over and over. After Rhys was threaten to be beheaded if he didn’t stay away from Gillian she agreed to marry Seth. Gillian finds out that her mother may still be alive but being held by the evil priest demigod Vampire of the light. Rhys says he can’t stay and watch Seth claim his woman and tells her he will go to live with Cult of Light in hopes he can stop the war between the two realms. Will Gillian find her mother? Will love be stronger than war? Who will claim Gillian? My Rating: 4.5
