Drawn to the far Carpathian mountains, Shea found a ravaged, raging man, a being like no other. And her soul trembled. For in his burning eyes, his icy heart, she recognized the beloved stranger who'd already become part of her. The imperious Carpathian male had compelled Shea to his side. But was she to be his healer. . . or his prey? His victim . . . or his mate? Was he luring her into madness . . . or would his dark desire make her whole?
Ok this book was better than the first one, I really enjoyed Jacques' story. He is the younger brother of the Dark Prince, Mikhail and is also a hunter. Years after Mikhail's story Jacques finds himself back in the Carpathian Mountains where he is kidnapped and buried alive. He finds a mind path to Shea while she is over in the United States. Shea has always been different and when she feels the stranger in her mind she ignores him as much as she can. Years later she finds herself drawn to the Carpathian Mountains but she is also being hunted by the same human hunters that are hunting the Carpathians. She is pulled to Jacques and pulls him out of his early grave. He has no memory of his past but he does know Shea. Together they heal each other and fall in love. Other Carpathians show up once they realize Jacques is really alive. A betrayer of their own kind is who hired the humans to torture and bury Jacques. When the truth finally comes out it is devastating news to Shea and Jacques both. My Rating: 4.5
