Christine Feehan- Dark Magic (book 4)

Young Savannah Dubrinsky was a mistress of illusion, a world-famous magician capable of mesmerizing millions. But there was one-Gregori, the Dark One-who held her in terrifying thrall. Whose cold silver eyes and heated sensuality sent shivers of danger, of desire, down her slender spine.
With a dark magic all his own, Gregori-the implacable hunter, the legendary healer, the most powerful of Carpathian males-whispered in Savannah's mind that he was her destiny. That she had been born to save his immortal soul. And now, here in New Orleans, the hour had finally come to claim her. To make her completely his. In a ritual as old as time . . . and as inescapable as eternity.
My thoughts: I was looking forward to this book, I liked Gregori from the first book but I was expecting more from him. He is the "Dark One" , the one everyone feared but he was almost soft in this book. He knew for 25 years that Savannah was his lifemate but he thought he had manipulated the course of events to make her his lifemate. When Raven, Savannah's mother was pregnant he gave her his blood and being the healer for his people he pushed his blood into the baby, he thought he "made" her need him, made her his lifemate through his so called evil ways.  But fate had plans for him anyway and she was actually his true lifemate. When a Carpathian female turns 18 males come to try to claim them as their lifemates, when she turned 18, Gregori came to her and she begged him to give her 5 years in the human world to grow and live as a woman, he gave her almost 5 full years but came to her when he could not hold out any longer. She tried to deny her feelings for him and he tried to hide his true self from her but in the end they both realized that they are true lifemates, the other half that make each whole. Savannah was never a whining female who was "oh poor pitiful me" and she gave as good as she got in this book so that is why I like her, she was strong enough to handle the hardest, most lethal Carpathian male in this series.  My Rating: 4

  2. He would have gotten a 5 if he did not whine throughout the book about being so dangerous, mean, cold, dark and a killer- yeah yeah yeah boo hoo you killed people to protect your race and you think you cheated some other male out of his rightful lifemate- get over it and have sex with her- jeez!!! J/K lol I did like the book but I just thought he would be I don't know sexier but overall it was a good story
