C. L. Wilson - King of Sword and Sky

Returning to the Fading Lands with his Celierian truemate, Rain discovers a dissension among the most powerful members of his own council. As the Eld plot their next deadly strike, Ellysetta struggles to master her powerful magic and discover how to save the tairen, while Rain confronts open challenge to his rule and prepares to lead the Fey army to war.

The Tairen Soul's third installment, "King of Sword and Sky" proceeds on without skipping a beat. This taut constructed fantasy places an intrepid labyrinthine world in front of our eyes so full of wonder it is hard to put it into words. A very involved epic exploding with history, future, love, evil, surviving, sacrificing, and characters so personally detailed they come to life not only in your mind but your heart. Every word that C.L. Wilson writes advances a tangled and perplexing plot while it draws you into a magical land of life you do not ever want to leave. Grasping emotional feelings, and the ability to lure your heart and soul into this tale is true talent shown by the author. Only halfway through the series, I am a devoted fan of Ms. Wilson and find myself dreading the day I read the final page of this series.

My rating - A Big Fat 5
