In the three years since Project Dawn disbanded, Derrick continues to fight the good fight. Now civilians, his squad--Circe's Recruits--works for a private organization bent on cleaning up the mess left in the wake of Project Dawn's rebirth. Pearson Labs continues to create Circs, people who have been genetically changed. When needed, these Circs take on an altered form, one neither man nor animal, but something in between. But unlike the squad, the Circs coming out of Pearson Labs aren't sane.
Derrick doesn't trust Sabrina Torrence. She's an agent for the Project Protection Agency. Their mission in life is to kill and enslave Circs for Pearson Labs. No matter that she helped one of their own escape from the labs, or that she's given them vital information they'll need if they want to take down Elliot Pearl, the labs' founder. Derrick knows she's got her own agenda. If only she wasn't so damned attractive, then he might be able to keep his hands off her and his mind on the job. Then a stunning circumstance forces him to reevaluate all he once thought. But will this new insight be too late to save their growing love?

My thoughts: Ok I didn't like this book as much as I liked the previous one but I did like it. Derrick is a total hardass and doesn't trust or really like women. He likes having sex with women but isn't the relationship type of man due to his ex-fiancee, Wendy. LOL yep that's her name and she did him wrong. Now his beast is wanting Sabrina, the woman that helped Kelly escape from Pearson Labs. Derrick smelled Sabrina's blood on Kelly and could not get her scent out of his head, so the whole team looked for her for a month. They finally found her in the woods surrounded by dead bodies, she was crying and naked, not knowing how she got there or what happened. Derrick takes her back to the compound for Doc to run some tests on her. Little does everyone know, Doc already knows that Sabrina is a female Circ but he wanted Derrick to find out on his own. When she finally does change she challenges Roane, big mistake unless you want all the guys to have sex with you and that is what happens with Derrick's ok, well it's not like he could say No to Roane anyway. So only Roane, Hale and Derrick do her because Ace & Zack are not there at the time. After she runs away a few times "for the good of everyone" (yeah, yeah) she gets help from someone she never expects to get the help from. There is action in this book and not just sex action. LOL
