Jennifer Ashley- Primal Bonds (book 2)

When half-Fae, half-Shifter Andrea Gray flees an abusive would-be mate, the only way she is allowed to relocate to the Austin Shiftertown is if a Shifter there claims her as mate.
Sean Morrissey, the Guardian of his clan and all of Shiftertown, is mateless, lonely, and has a tough job--to send the souls of deceased Shifters into the afterworld. He volunteers to claim her, sight unseen, but doesn't realize that one look at the gray-eyed, dark-haired Andrea will stir the mating frenzy in him. Even though the mate-claim isn't finalized, official, or yet blessed, Sean will do anything to get Andrea into his life and keep her there, forever.
Oh how I have waited for this book ever since I read the first one, everyone that knows me knows that Liam's book, the first in the series, was one of my top three books last year. I can't really explain what I like most about this series, might be how the author writes, might be the sexy men or it just might be that the women are strong but still soft and likeable. Maybe it's just a combination of everything that makes me love them so much. I for one do not like a female lead that thinks she is so tough that she could kick anyone's ass at any time and never gives into her fears or even what her heart is feeling and you do not get that in this book with Andrea.  I liked Sean in the first book and he is high up on my list of favorite sexy men, even coming close to Liam, but of course never passing him. Sean doesn't beat around the bush telling Andrea exactly what he wants or even how he feels. When he opens his heart about Kenny and cries, boy the author nailed the feelings in that scene. To say I was shocked on who one of the bad guys was is an understatement- never saw it coming haha. The bond the Morrissey family has is fantastic, I personally love how JA uses the rubbing, hugging and touching to relate their feelings to each other, even while in human form, just like wild cats really do. Yes I would be ok with any of the Morrissey men rubbing against me. I was a little heartbroken with Dylan in this book and hope to some day read a book or even anthology about him. With the Morrissey pack tall, dark haired and blue eyed with Irish accents I can safely say that these shifters are on the top of my book boyfriends list. Andrea is a woman who once she opens her heart and mind knows clearly what she wants and has no problem defending it or him. I liked the Fae part of this book and hope to read more about them in the furture.
My Rating: 5 +++
