Harper lost his lifemate, Jenny, during her turn and has blamed himself for her death ever since, so he's rather happy for the distraction when Tiny and Mirabeau arrive with a young immortal in tow. Stephanie McGill is a young newly turned, immortal who is being hunted by a mad no-fanger named Leonius. When Anders and Drina Argenis (Argeneau) arrive to help, Harper finds himself working with the beautiful young Spanish woman. But things get interesting when Stephanie decides to take on the role of cupid and bring Drina and a reluctant Harper together. How much trouble could a newly turned teenage vamp be?T
he sixteenth installment for the Argeneau series not only has new, but brings back several past characters, to complete this romantic tale of a struggling love. Although it could be read as a stand alone, you would miss out on so much background that rounds out a continuing story about a large family of intriguing immortals that I strongly recommend (if you haven’t tried this great series) you start soon. Delivering an enjoyable and humorously entertaining story is something you can always count on when it comes to Lyndsay Sands writing. This particular light read makes a great interlude between serious books that just give you a calm happy feel as you finish the last page. The sassy teenage Stephanie adds a zesty spin with her witty disposition and newly acquired powers that I hope to see more of down the line in future stories around the small town of Port Henry. The twist and turns of the two main characters, Drina and Harper, along with nano sex and a stinky skunk give the story variation and a naughty flare. With each new tale a fresh feel with anticipation as to what will happen next guarantees to keep you coming back with each new book.My Rating - 4
