Here are a few questions we asked Ms. Hart to answer so we could all get to know her a little better.....
If you were writing these questions to yourself, what would be a question that has never been ask before, and you are busting to tell your fans about?
I can’t really think of any question that has gone unasked. I will tell you the most interesting question I ever had from a fan, though. He wanted to know if there was any way he could become a real vampire. I was kind of sorry to have to tell him that I wouldn’t know where to start looking for one. As far as what I’m busting to tell fans about, I am excited about the werewolf series I’m going to do. As soon as I have time, I’ll get an excerpt ready to post on my web site.
Which comes first when you explore new ideas, a developing character or and storyline to place him or her in?
That can go either way. It seems to work better if the ideas spring from the character. I love to brainstorm with people. I have two critique partners who are multi-published, award-winning authors. We were talking about a character in book 6 who’s begging Jack to be made into a vampire. One of my critique partners innocently asked me if I thought this character had an ulterior motive for wanting to become a vampire. From that one question, the three of us came up with a back story for this character that y’all are going to love!
How do you write the sex scenes in your books? Do you leave it blank and comeback when you are in the mood, do you go with the flow and just write down what comes to mind, or do you wear a brown paper bag over your head as you pound the keyboard with embarrassment when no one is around.?
The brown paper bag, definitely! How did you know? I always write a book from first to last. I don’t skip around. When I come to a sex scene or any other scene that’s difficult to write, I just go for it. What’s hard is writing sex from a guy’s point of view. Who knows how guys think? I just know how I want him to think or what would be romantic/funny/scary for him to think—whatever’s necessary. Writing sex scenes is definitely my least favorite thing about the writing process. That and revisions.
Do you wish that a particular part in one of your books could be different or changed, and if so, do you think this change would have reflected on the outcome of the entire story?
The main thing I wish I hadn’t done is kill off William. (Spoiler alert) I’m bringing him back in book 6, but he won’t be quite the same William. I annoyed a lot of fans by killing him, so I’m trying to make it up to everyone. I have a lot of interesting plans for William in the future. He’s got some very important struggles ahead of him. I think the readers will enjoy his journey. I’m excited about it.
We all are interested in what you have planned for future. Can you tell us more about the werewolf series, or other ideas you have bouncing around?
The werewolf series will star a kick-butt female shape-shifter, a veeery interesting Atlanta vampire, and some monsters the likes of which you’ve never before seen. There are some charming foreign werewolves and cool witches and lots of other surprises. There’s also a murder mystery.
There are a couple of young adult books I want to write as well, but they’re not far enough along to talk about yet.
Thanks for including me in your Blogiversary!

Hello everyone, and thanks, Crazy Chicks! It's great to be with you. I hope this weekend is as glorious wherever you are as it is here in Georgia!
ReplyDeleteLove, Raven
I would love to add either some peppermint schnapps to my hot chocolate or some bailey's Irish Cream...
ReplyDeleteAnd it's a beautiful morning out here on the west coast in the central valley of California. The sun is shining and it's a balmy 50 degrees! NOT!

ReplyDeleteWelcome Raven.. thanks for sharing with us.. and after the painful night i had getting a tattoo i need to add some liquor to my Liquor..lol just joking .. i like a nice warm cup of cocoa while i read
ReplyDeleteI added some pumpkin spice creamer to my coffee this morning, Mmmmm, so good. I love that stuff but try to stay away from it because of the calories. I usually put just sweetener (boring).
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to your werewolf book Raven
Raven I can't wait to start reading your books! Hmmm as far as what goes in my mug, I'm a hard core coffee drinker and don't put anything in it. I just enjoy a really good cup of coffee. Afternoon and evenings are tea, slightly sweetened...boring yes I know! lol
ReplyDeleteLaura
Raven it was 50 degrees when I wrote that post but the BALMY part was the NOT! LOL! I'm more of a hot weather person myself!

Hello, everyone! Thanks for coming out to say hello. I like really dark coffee with lots of cream. My fave is Starbuck's Sumatran.
ReplyDeleteI like werewolves too, Shonna. LaTonia, tell us about the tat.
I will have to look up your series. I am not a coffee or tea person lol. I like hot chocolate with marshmallows and I do like to drink the frozen smoothies from starbucks. Good luck with your new series. My email is sandracarol123@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThanks! I like hot chocolate with marshmallows too, but when it comes to frozen drinks, I prefer margaritas. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the interview. I think those are always interesting- wearing a paper bag over the head- too funny.
ReplyDeleteI do not drink coffee or tea, but I love flavored hot chocolates or unflavored with marshmallows or whipped cream. I also love hot cider with a fresh cinnamon stick dipped inside.
Thank you for the giveaway opportunity.

ReplyDeleteIn the morning its Bailey's(when there is no school or work)
In the afternoon I drop a couple small peppermint patties in the bottom of dark coffee.
In the evening while doing home work its a Dark Coffee and cream or Hot Tea and Honey. Either way a shot of Wild Turkey is added.
Sounds like you've got the waterfront covered. I'm going to have to try that peppermint pattie trick; it sounds awesome.
ReplyDeleteThis was a good weekend. Watching your college alma mater kick butt on the big screen while sipping coffee and reading the newspaper in my easy chair with a good cat on the armrest and my dog on my lap. Ah, the simple things in life.
Good night, y'all. I'm turning in. It was nice chatting. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI generally just add either marshmallows or whipped cream to my hot cocoa. When I am sick, I like to add lots of honey to warm tea, very soothing on my throat.
