No one could ever accuse Michele Hauf of getting in a rut. Through the years since she started placing her thoughts and ideas on paper, a mixed bouquet of genre novels have bloomed to her credit. Historical, fantasy , action/adventure, and paranormal lead the way for an outstanding array of published books that Michele has written over the last 15 years. To add to the list of her fantastic reads, in just a few day, (20th of March to be exact) THE WEREWOLF’S WIFE will be released as a Nocturne for Harlequin. To celebrate, Michele is going to give a copy of it to one of our lucky followers. To enter, leave a comment or question for Michele, along with your email address. A random drawing will determine the winner, but first let’s chat with Michele.

All I have to do is read the title as I look at the cover to want to start howling at the moon. LOL! This isn’t the first time you have had Ridge or Abigail in your books.
Now together in THE WEREWOLF’S WIFE, would you tell us a little about the story and how it came to be?

Well, Ridge was in HER VAMPIRE'S HUSBAND, and he wasn't too nice. I wanted to explore his life a little more. And then there is Abigail. Oh, that witch. She was the villain in HIS FORGOTTEN FOREVER, and when I started writing Wolf's Wife, I had forgotten just how nasty she really was. Had to reread HFF, and then adjust her character accordingly. All good times, though. I hope readers will enjoy this couple.

THE WEREWOLF'S WIFE  (synopsis)
Alpha wolf Ridge Addison left his wife in Las Vegas, vowing to put their one reckless night of passion behind him and return to his pack. Years later he needs a divorce so he can become pack leader. Yet he's never forgotten the sensuous witch whose life he saved...or the knee-buckling kisses he still craves.
After they parted, Abigail tried banishing Ridge from her memory. Now her heart belongs only to her son. But when the boy is kidnapped, she knows she alone can't save him. Though Abigail's body still aches for Ridge, she's willing to give him his freedom in exchange for his help. But who will shield her heart from the only man she's ever let claim her, body and soul?

When you write do you stick with one project at a time or do you juggle?

Oh, dear, I'm a juggler. Many projects going at once, or else I'd never meet my deadlines. I like to be able to draft a story out, then set it aside and work on something else, then after the story has sat a while, pick it up and complete it. I have up to 4 different stories going at a time. Good things I keep a very thorough bible on my world, otherwise I'd be very lost. :-)

Is there a routine you sick with for writing and do you enforce a word quota upon yourself to meet?

No word quotas. That's too rigid. Though sometimes I will do a challenge with a writer friend to get as many words on paper in a week. Pushing for 25K usually, during that week. Great way to get a draft on the page.

I’ve heard you like to garden. What do you like to grow?

Garden, as in, I like to look at the pretty flowers, but grow them? Erm, no. I do like keeping faery gardens, but only plant succulents in those because they need little to no care. If it can't survive without water, then it doesn't belong in my garden. Good thing for rain.

Everyone loves you vampire and werewolf characters, (among several other yummy creatures) but if you were forced to write from now on just about one type of character, which would you pick and why?

Hmm, that would be cruel. But I guess I'd go with the vampire since that is my first love. I love that they can be centuries old, and I can explore their histories and how that makes them who they are in the present.

Finish this sentence. I’m the kind of person that,.....

...likes to shop!

Answer with the first thing that pops in your head. If you don’t want to pick one, feel free to answer with your own word.

  2. I think it is great how you brought the two characters together from your other stories. Was it hard at first to do that or did it just go right along?

  7. Thank you for taking the time to share with us today. I have not read this series and am always on the lookout for a new (to me) good series and this one sounds dandy. I find I have to know how this villain becomes a character I want to know and my fingers are crossed, along with everything else that still crosses :)

  9. HEY Everyone,
I got an email from Michele. For some reason she is having trouble posting on the blog. She ask me to post this for her.

    Michele:

Bringing the two characters together, someone asked. I had a little idea that they might get together in the future as I was writing Her Vampire Husband. But sometimes I'll write secondary characters in a story, not knowing whether or not I'll see them again in a future story.

    Hey, all stalkers are welcome!

My favorite series of all time? Hmmm, well I would have to say Koontz's Odd Thomas books. Hands down, they are the best. In romance? I love Kresley Cole's paranormal critters.
