Marked- Elisabeth Naughton (book 1)

THERON – Dark haired, duty bound and deceptively deadly. He’s the leader of the Argonauts, an elite group of guardians that defends the immortal realm from threats of the Underworld.
From the moment he walked into the club, Casey knew this guy was different. Men like that just didn’t exist in real life—silky shoulder-length hair, chest impossibly broad, and a predatory manner that just screamed dark and dangerous. He was looking for something. Her.
She was the one. She had the mark. Casey had to die so his kind could live, and it was Theron’s duty to bring her in. But even as a 200-year-old descendant of Hercules, he wasn’t strong enough to resist the pull in her fathomless eyes, to tear himself away from the heat of her body.
As war with the Underworld nears, someone will have to make the ultimate sacrifice.

MARKED is the first book in author Elisabeth Naughton’s Eternal Guardians series. A series set in modern day, with a portal to the realm of the immortals, the Eternal Guardian series is laced with Greek mythology, stories, myths, prophecy and history.
Theron is the leader of the Argonauts, an elite group of guardians that defends the immortal realm from the threats of the Underworld. He is dark haired, sexy and deadly. Duty bound to marry the King’s daughter, Isadora, who is slowly dying from a mysterious illness. The union will strengthen and secure Isadora’s position as the next leader of Argolea.
Forced to enter the mortal sphere, what he finds is a chain of events that could rock his foundation and make him question his honor and duty.
Casey Simopolous, has never fit in, pretty much a loner and always looking for a home, she ends up taking over her Grandmothers bookstore and working a second job to make ends meet. Casey learns that she is not well and her health is failing and the doctors have been unable to determine the cause. She is befriended by Nick, her self-appointed guardian and Dana, who works with her at the club.
She soon learns that they are not who they seem and neither is she. They are Miso's (half-breeds) a kind that is considered beneath the god-like Argonauts, and all children from mixed mortal heritage are hunted or destroyed, before they reveal themselves to the world. Established 1000’s of years before, when the fallen Argonaut, Atalanta, sold her soul to Hades in exchange for immortality, the prophecy states that the two halves must join to save the people of the immortal realm. The perfect Argolean, one half human strength and one half god strength.
Marked. Casey and Isadora each are marked with the winged omega symbol. They are the ones. One had to die so the other could live. Casey and Isadora are half-sisters, and each is one-half of the prophecy. The king reveals to Theron that Casey must be brought back to save Isadora’s life, and their world, and in doing so, end her own. Duty bound Theron sets out to do just that, but it wasn’t so easy any longer, is he strong enough to resist the pull in her fathomless eyes, to tear himself away from the heat of her body.
Someone will have to make the ultimate sacrifice as war with the Underworld nears. But which one?

If you like the Greek Mythology, myths and legends, and a great story this is an excellent read. All of the warriors and guardians are descendants of the Greek gods and heroes.
