I enjoyed this book but I felt like I was missing something, so now I am going to go back and read the first book. I know they are all stand-alone books but for me I like to get the feel of a series or trilogy by starting at the beginning.  Rhad is a vampire living in Romania and Mischa goes to Romania looking for her missing sister. Not knowing what she will find once she gets there, Mischa has researched Rhad because of her sister talking about him to her. Mischa knows he is a vampire and at first feels she is in danger due to this fact. With a little help from her grandfather and sister, who both happen to be ghosts now, she ends up half naked and unconscious on his doorstep. He is attracted to her from the very beginning but denies himself a taste of her blood. Once she comes to, he decides to help her find her sister by locating a shaman that he knows. Unbeknown to either of them, a human is after the same shaman and will do anything to get to him. Love blossoms in this fast paced story.  If I had to decide between life with Rhad and going back to Boston... Boston, who? what? where?
