Relic- Deena Remiel

Raphael, a Brethren Savior, an angel with a forgotten past, has lost his power to heal and is on a self-imposed guilt trip to get it back. If he can’t, his tour of eternal duty as Brethren Savior will be revoked. On his journey, he winds up enmeshed in a web of attempted murder and resurrection, all thanks to a woman he’s only seen in a photograph and by chance on an Arizona desert hiking trail. Serena Sikes is a wanted woman. Desired by “undesirables” for a gift her brother gave her—a stolen relic with suspected healing powers. Hunted down in the Arizona desert and left for dead, she is found by none other than the angel who cannot heal.Raphael and Serena are inexorably bound together, for locked deep within the relic’s heart had lived the soul of his long lost wife. Now, it resides inside Serena. Evil lurks around every corner as Raphael tries to keep both Serena and his dead wife’s soul alive and lustful temptation at bay.Three souls bound together by an ancient relic, bound by a timeless gift, and bound by a love that is eternal.

OH MY. I love this book. Raphael at this point is my favorite angel.
In the last book the brethren found a body with ID that was involved in cult they disbanded. So Raphael had the sad task of finding the family of the deceased, named Jared. Little did he know Jared's sister has been looking for him for 2 years and had just giving up the search when she ran out of money. Serena knew she shouldn’t have trusted her brother and accepted the Relic from him. But it looked just like her and she wanted it even knowing somewhere down the line it would cause problems.
When Raphael's first wife was killed he couldn’t handle the pain and asked for all memory of that love to be removed centuries ago. So when he looked at the picture that was crumpled in Jared's hand, he just saw a woman he was very attracted to. Upon saving her from a crazy doctor who wanted her blood to save his life, Raphael took Serena to a hospital because he was unable to heal her himself. In her sleep she cries out for Raphael and grabs his arm. In doing this it brings all of Raphael's feelings and memories flowing back from his dead wife that looked so much like her. With confusing feelings and emotions, Raphael was afraid to tell Serena that when she touched the relic his dead wife's soul was transported into her body. He truly feared she would think him only interested in her because of this fact. But Raphael quickly learned that looks are the only thing in common his two loves had.
My Rating: 5 LT
