We met Zacharel in the Lords of Underworld series, where he was charged with the task of putting Amun out of his misery after he returned from hell. Zacharel is thousands of years old and had a twin that was kidnapped and damaged in hell. When he was finally returned to Zacharel he begged for death. Zacharel fought to get his twin back to his life loving self but couldn’t. At every chance given his twin would try to kill himself and Zacharel couldn’t allow that because then his twin's soul would be lost forever. So he finally gave his twin what he wanted and took his life thinking he freed him. He also took his own love from his body and placed it in an urn so he could always be with his twin. But in doing so turned off any type of emotions Zacharel could have, including sexuality or love. So he went all these years untouched and never understanding the need to give into anyone sexually.
Annabelle has been fighting for her life for four years in a mental institute , not just from perverted doctors that prey on the weak but also from demons no one else could see but her. After her parents were murdered by one of the demons they found her guilty of the crime. Then one night an angel appears in her room to find out why all these demons were drawn to her. She asked to be released and he refused, too cold to understand her pain. Zacharel had no feelings when it came to humans. But she interested him and he took her to his cloud until he could figure out what to do with her. He knew his Deity was teaching him a lesson and he didn’t want to fail by leaving the human there to be hurt any longer. Out of nowhere Zacharel starts to feel a pull towards her and wants to do all types of things he's seen, but never done. Shocked and not sure how to handle his first feelings of lust, he tries to bargain with her for sex.
That’s when some of the funny but sad moments happen, Annabelle is also untouched but not totally, by a doctor, that had done things to her in the institution. When Zacharel tries to bargain for sex she’s not too happy with him but she does bargain kisses. Zacharel turns out to be so cute trying to behave and earns kisses that may lead to more.
