BLURB: I make a discovery that totally blows...dying is the easy part.  It's coming back to life that sucks."

The year is 1 AWC—After the Wall Crash. The Fae are free and hunting us. It’s a war zone out there, and no two days are alike. I’m Dani O’Malley, the chaos-filled streets of Dublin are my home, and there’s no place I’d rather be. Dani “Mega” O’Malley plays by her own set of rules—and in a world overrun by Dark Fae, her biggest rule is: Do what it takes to survive. Possessing rare talents and the all-powerful Sword of Light, Dani is more than equipped for the task. In fact, she’s one of the rare humans who can defend themselves against the Unseelie. But now, amid the pandemonium, her greatest gifts have turned into serious liabilities.
Dani’s ex–best friend, MacKayla Lane, wants her dead, the terrifying Unseelie princes have put a price on her head, and Inspector Jayne, the head of the police force, is after her sword and will stop at nothing to get it. What’s more, people are being mysteriously frozen to death all over the city, encased on the spot in sub-zero, icy tableaux. When Dublin’s most seductive nightclub gets blanketed in hoarfrost, Dani finds herself at the mercy of Ryodan, the club’s ruthless, immortal owner. He needs her quick wit and exceptional skill to figure out what’s freezing Fae and humans dead in their tracks—and Ryodan will do anything to ensure her compliance.
Dodging bullets, fangs, and fists, Dani must strike treacherous bargains and make desperate alliances to save her beloved Dublin—before everything and everyone in it gets iced.
WENDY'S REVIEW: I'm going to do this review a little different from my others, I'm not going to really review the book so much as talk about what I thought about it and give the reasons I loved it. Well, loved most of it. I really liked Ryodan, he just rocked my socks. He is what he is, and his need for sex is just part of it. Lor, one of Ryodan's men, he was just as great, cracked me up a few times. The story was so good I had trouble putting the book down so I could get some sleep. The world building that KMM writes is just phenomenal, sucks you right into it. Characters from the Fever series, like Barrons and Mac, make small appearances and anyone that knows me knows I cannot get enough Barrons so I wish he would have been around more. Dancer, a young man that has been on his own since the walls came down, is just great, the banter between him and Dani was just too funny. Oh and then there is Christian, wow, how much can you say about him, he freaked me out a little in this book- lol. I did enjoy his transformation throughout this book. I feel he is going to play a major roll in Dani's life in the next few books. Now to Dani, some of this book I was cheering for her and other times I just wanted to reach through my Kindle and smack that little fourteen year old mouth and scream "Wake up, look to see what is right in front of you". I can't wait for her to grow up and mature enough to realize that help and love can come in all shapes and sizes, plus not everyone that does not agree with you is evil or wrong. All I can say is I would take the meat and potatoes I was offered over a poptart any day.
This book just like the Fever series ties me up in knocks for days, I think about the story and the characters for days after I finish these books. I've read a lot of books and series, but there is just something about this one that makes it stick with me. When you can mentally pull pictures of the characters into your head when you are reading and even once you are done with the book then there is something special about it all.
My Rating: 5
