NEW YEAR'S BLOG HOP

Traditions
While everyone is getting ready for the big count down at a New Year's Eve Party, so am I. While most ladies are putting on something special bought just for the occasion that is sexy with sparkles, topped off with those come and get me five inch hot heels, I am putting on my favorite sweatpants and worn-out sweatshirt with my fuzzy-wuzzy pink socks. While everyone is listening to music and pouring some wine, so am I. Only my music is turned down low to the point that you can actually hear the wine splashing into the wine glass as it is being poured. Preparing a nice little finger food tray with some cheeses, crackers and fruit for my husband and me on the side, replaces the smorgasbord of food you find at festive parties. With a fire in the fireplace my evening is about to begin. Getting snuggled on the love seat with a pillow and throw, there is a tiny click. That is the sound of my kindle being turned on. Now the adventure begins! I never know where I will go, who I will meet or what wild and exciting things will happen in the next few hours. No party I've ever been to can top that.  Happy Reading and Happy New Year to everyone!!

It's another year over! Can you believe it? 21. Yours is the best sort of New Year's Eve. What we did here too--only also watched Dick's Clark's Rockin' New year's Eve and the husband didn't drink wine by sparkling grape juice as he is on call for his job New Year's weekend. We never go out, unless he is not on call, then to see a movie and dinner, then home for drinks and rest of night. Last year, I participated in a paranormal investigation at a local historical B&B till 1 a.m. while husband stayed home as was on call then, too. I drank my champagne after got home at 1:30 a.m.

LOL, you described my New Years Eve evening, well it was like that until hubby wanted to watch Batman Rises on Paperview at 8:30 - LOL The movie ended right before midnight and then I pulled out my kindle and read until midnight when it was time for my New Years kiss - LOL Of course the 3 dogs had to get in on the loving as they jumped up on the couch all of the sudden or maybe it wasn't for the loving, I think they were scared from all the loud noises from the fireworks going off outside - LOL Anyway, it was a nice and peaceful New years and I totally enjoyed it.

  128. I stay in definitely. I enjoy a good book more than watching others get stupid drunk. It's much safer too.

  133. Happy and Healthy 2013 everyone - we stay inside and watch our local fireworks on TV on NYE - my son's birthday is NYE (1983!) - out with the old and in with the new, so we celebrate that - also to continue the festivities, we go downtown on New Year's Day to see the Mummers!
