WENDY’S REVIEW: Oh, this book was definitely my favorite out of the three so far. Terek, one of the oldest Sons of Navaurs, had true love before he was turned into a vampire. He thought his life was over when he lost his wife and child so he turned to the Monastery for guidance. After his time there he made the choice to become a vampire thinking that was the life he wanted because he thought he would never find love again. Terek was known as a true ladies man who kept a harem of female vampires around him at all times. Most of the females lived with him but he allowed a select few to live on their own and even sire a vampire for themselves. While out one night Terek meets Ilona when he saves her from a vampire feeding on her. At the same time a hunter vampire shows up and kills the vampire attacking her. Terek fights off the hunter, who then disappears thinking he had actually killed Ilona and one of the Sons not just a regular vampire. Instead of letting Ilona die he turns her into a vampire but it was not what she wanted, even though she didn't want to die either. When she wakes up and finds out that she is just the new female in a very long line of females she is not happy. It turns out the hunter is working for the Achron, the evil vampire who is out to kill all the Sons, and he wants Ilona dead. The hunter vampire is sent back to kill Ilona but she and Terek are not home. Things happen pretty fast between Terek and Ilona but not fast enough that you don't feel (or read) the love building between the two of them. Ilona learns that Terek is willing to give up almost everything to be with her. She requested not only love from him but a life together that he thought he could never have again.
