1. Just a few more days and DARK SECRETS will be released (WOO HOOT)!!
Tell us about this read we know everyone is busting to get their hands on.
Set in the same weird west world as Dark Vow, Dark Secrets is about a man who made some pretty big mistakes when he was younger and is now working as a whore (he uses magic and lets people believe they are getting is body). But his magic is slowly driving him mad and he knows he needs to change how he’s living, but it isn’t until he sees the woman he once loved that he is prompted into action. So there’s magic, redemption, a second chance at love, and a villain you’ll love to hate.
Availible Feb. 18th
Kindle / iTunes / Barnes & Noble
Six years ago, Haidyn Mast left his home and his betrothed Anisa to follow his magical calling. Too weak to join the Arcane Guild and too ashamed to return home, he has made a life as a prostitute--to all outward appearances. In truth, he sells his mind but not his body, using magic to let his clients experience their most secret fantasies while his hands stay clean. Even the Lawman, the arbiter of justice in Reseda, is one of his clients, but Haidyn would rather not know the extent of that man's depravity.
Though successful, Haidyn is shunned as a whore and his lack of formal training is causing his power to grow out of control. He's ready to retire and leave the city, but when he sees his Anisa standing at Lawman's side, he knows he must rescue her from the abusive enforcer. Risking his life and his sanity, he devises a plan, knowing that failure will mean death for him, and a lifetime of torment for her...

2. What was the inspiration behind this book and what research did you
have to do to help with your writing?
This started out as a short story with a tragic end, but I liked Haidyn too much to leave it like that (and sometimes a story just isn’t right). So I went back and tried again. The male whore idea was just one of those things—it seemed like a fun idea at the time, and I had fun writing it and then it nearly never made it off my hard drive because of his profession. I researched branding specifically for this book but a lot of the time I find things that I’ve read or already know help form the web of the story. Research isn’t just about one book, it’s about increasing my general knowledge so I have a bigger pool of idea to draw from.
3. Tell us something about Haidyn that isn’t in the book.
I think he’d have brown thumbs. While he’s very good with people because he can read them, I don’t think he’d be able to grow a weed in a patch of dirt, and I don’t think he’d care either. In that respect he knows who he is and where his talents lie. Gardening isn’t one of them.
4. Without giving away to much, what is your favorite scene in DARK SECRETS?
I have always liked the branding scene (which is all I’m going to say about it story wise). It was incredibly hard to write because of the emotions and also the pain, but maybe it’s the intensity that makes me like it so much.
5. From twitter, we know you love chocolate. What are your top three favorite chocolate indulgences?
Do I really tweet about chocolate that much? (checks tweet stream) Hmm from my tweets it seems so. I love Green and Blacks Maya Gold. It’s dark chocolate with orangey cinnamon overtones. Milk Toblerone—or what I refer to as snarfing chocolate (one piece is never enough, and it’s gone before you know it). And raspberry M&Ms—which I discovered while in the US and which I can’t get in Australia, sob.
6. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY by the way!!! Do you have any special plans for this evening?
No special plans for tonight (unless hubby has planned something?)
7. From Western Australia to the US is a fairly LONG flight. Do you like to travel and what do you like to do when you find yourself confined to a plane for several grueling hours?
I like new destinations, but I don’t like plane travel (when will teleporting be invented?). While in the air I read and caught up on movies. I was also plotting and working on a novella while I was travelling. Plus I had my kids and hubby with me, so there wasn’t a whole of time for me to be bored.
8. Tell us the name of the book you last read, what you’re reading now, and what is next on your TBR list.
The Emperor’s Conspiracy by Michelle Diener
Shadowy Horses by Susanna Kearsley
The Perfect Play by Jaci Burton
I read a variety of books :)
9. What is your favorite beverage (1) in the morning, (2) in the afternoon and then (3) in the evening?
Generally I just drink water. I have the occasional peppermint tea at the day job. In the evening I like a hot chocolate, or a hot water with a squeeze of lemon.
10. What future projects do you have in the works for us to keep an eye out for?
I’ve got a few new releases this year. Ruby’s Ghost (a New Adult ghost romance), Lunar Exposure is a sci fi erotic romance (and so much fun to write). In July I have a new print series starting with The Outcast Prince—my fairies rule the underworld.
