Blurb: When archaeologist Chloe Broussard accepts the contract to lead a dig in Ornes, France, she has no idea she will uncover Veronica's Veil. When she does, she discovers a danger far greater than the demons that stalk her in the night. Azazel wants her, as well as the Veronica, and his chosen minion is her brother. Her hope lies with immortal Templar Knight, Lucan. Her life depends on oaths she knows nothing about.
For countless centuries, Lucan of Seacourt has lived with the knowledge that his brother killed their family. Now, as Azazel's darkness eats away at his soul, old betrayal stirs suspicion. He trusts no one. Not even the seraph who can heal his dying spirit.
With the fate of the Almighty hanging in the balance, Lucan must find faith in something more terrifying than the dark lord's creations. He must learn to believe his heart.

Shonna's review: No one believes her, but archaeologist Chloe Broussard knows it is there. Lurking in the shadows until the dark falls, it slithers closer growing impatient for the relic it know she harbors. Now the one person she loves more that anything, her brother Julian, has been acting strange. Unbeknownst to Chloe, the dark has taken control of him to help insure it’s quest against The Almighty. Because of a painful past allowing trust in anyone is something Chloe can not permit. Yet with no one to turn to for help she has no where to turn until the pieces of the puzzle begin to fall in place, and she sees her knight that is there to save her.
Sent by the church, Lucan Seacourt understands that “She who digs in the dust” is the Seraph he has been sent to protect at all costs. He has seen the mark she carries and feels blessed to have been chosen with an identical marking. Yet gaining her acceptance of the world he lives in is not going to be an easy feat. With time growing short and there fragile relationship slowly taking root, pasts must be set aside and new beginnings must start before it is to late.
Wendy's thoughts: There's not anything I can say that I don't like about this series, to me it has everything- romance, suspense, passion and love.  With good fighting evil but not always winning it sets each book into a world that just sucks you right in. The characters fight for a love they all want so desperately while still fighting to protect the world from an ever-growing evil.
