Jennifer Lyon's THE PROPOSITION Tour

Looking For the Perfect Emergency Pastry.

Have you ever needed an emergency brownie? Or maybe a cookie, a slice of cake, or pie?
I know I have.
Kat Thayne, the heroine of THE PROPOSITION, Book One of The Plus One Chronicles, owns Sugar Dancer Bakery and she understands all about emergency pastries.  However the hero Sloane Michaels, an ex-Ultimate Fighter and self-made billionaire has no idea. He sees Kat at a society wedding, and she looks familiar to him.
But Kat is there setting up a wedding cake, not looking for romance. Sloane, however, isn’t one to back down from a challenge as you’ll see in this scene clip:

Raising his eyebrows, he asked, “Do I know you?”
His voice had a silky bite to it, and his words completely surprised her. She couldn’t imagine having met him and forgotten. Some things may have been wiped from her memory, but him? No one would forget a man that vital. This close, she saw a scar slashing through his left eyebrow, and another bracketed the right side of his harsh mouth. He wasn’t classically handsome, more like savagely beautiful.
Answer him!
Lowering his chin slightly, he regarded her beneath his arched brows. “And if I want to know you?”
Traitorous warmth bloomed in her belly. She shut it down by digging the corner of the kit into her hipbone. That shaft of pain snapped her brain into action. He had to be amusing himself at the expense of the help. It was the only explanation she could think of. “Do you need a dozen cookies? A cake? Perhaps an emergency brownie?”
Crinkles dug in at the corners of his eyes. “What kind of emergency requires a brownie?”
She lifted one hand in a careless gesture. “Oh the usual. Breakups. In-laws arriving unexpectedly. The always popular dealing-with-the-jerk-boss. Running out of wine. And the classic…” She trailed off, telling herself not to do it. To shut up.
Challenge sparked in his eyes. “Come on, don’t be shy. I must know the classic emergency that requires a brownie.”
Don’t say it. But her mouth was already moving. “P.M.S. or to the uninformed, Pushy Male Syndrome.”
Seconds stretched out.
Kat was brutally, sickeningly aware that she had gone too far. With a man who was clearly powerful. Entitled. And totally focused on her. Her stomach churned, and the kit slipped in her suddenly sweaty hands. She tightened her grip and just held on.
The left corner of his mouth twitched. “Do you have a particular confection for the man suffering cruel rejection from a pretty baker?”

Kat only wants to escape Sloane and the sizzling attraction that he invokes in her. But Sloane isn’t about to be deterred and their chemistry burns fierce and hot in the book.
Writing this book was such fun for me. First I love Kat and Sloane, they are very close to my heart. And one of the reasons for that is that Kat loves to bake. I enjoy baking too, but often feel guilty because of all the calories. I’m not blessed with Kat’s metabolism!
But in writing this book I had the perfect excuse to bake. I claimed I had to test recipes in case I needed them. Sadly I didn’t get to test my emergency brownies recipe (Hazelnut Mocha Brownies) but I did test a Mocha Cookies and they work just as well as an emergency brownie! My family, friends and I all loved them. This recipe is from  Here it is for you to try if you like:

¼ cup butter, cubed
¼ cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 ½ teaspoons instant coffee granules
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons baking cocoa
¼ teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup English toffee bits or almond brickle  chips
1 ounce milk chocolate, melted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put rack in middle of the oven.
In a microwave safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate; stir until smooth. Stir in coffee granules until dissolved. Cool for about five minutes.

Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt, then add to chocolate mixture and stir well. Stir in the toffee bits (I added in a little extra toffee bits). Drop by rounded tablespoon full 2-inches apart on a prepared baking sheet (lightly coat with cooking spray or baking spray, or you can use parchment paper).

Bake for 8 – 10 minutes or until set. Cool for 1 minute and move to wire rack. When completely cooled, melt the milk chocolate in a microwave bowl and drizzle it over the top. Let set and serve. Yields about 15 cookies.

I hope you enjoy the cookies and THE PROPOSITION!

Later, she took the name Jennifer Lyon, combined her love of witches, alpha males and sizzling romance into another award winning series, the Wing Slayer Hunters.

Shonna's Review:   If you are looking for something new, exciting and a guarantee that you will get nothing done until you have finished the last page and then still stare at that final word for a while in hope that by some magic it will cause just a few more chapter to appear because you feel like you are going to bust if you don’t get just a little more, .......then I have the perfect story for you.

The Proposition
by Jennifer Lyon is a read you need to hear about.

Gorgeous, smoking hot, Sloane Michaels is sex on a hot caramel chocolate covered stick and a dream come true that all women have had at one time or another in their life. Be sure to have a cool drink handy before you start reading because the room will become very warm once you start turning the pages of this fantastic story. Sizzling, steamy, strong, delicious, dominant,........ forget drinking the cool drink you have, just pour it over your head because you are going to need it.

A quote from Sloane:
“Keep standing there,” he cut her off and crossed his arms over his chest. “And I’m going to strip off your clothes and make a meal out of you.”

HOLY COW!! My heart is beating like a rabbit’s already here!!
His match comes in the form of someone he hated in the past. The years have changed and brought out a different individual in Kat Thayne. Some good, some painful, while confinement within herself screams to be free, Sloane is there to help her take the steps she needs.

He covered one over her hands with his warm fingers. “I have something, besides sex, that I can give you.”
His touch seared her, not with the sexual vibrations of earlier, but with some need she couldn’t name. She yanked her hand away, clutching it in her lap. Keeping focus on the picture over his shoulder, she said, “And what would that be?"

OMG!!!! Need I say more. *swooning*

There are so many things I would love to tell you but I don’t want to give to much away. Just remember to breathe as you find yourself captured by the plot. (I think I did start turning blue a time or two).
