Nathanael has a couple of secrets, too. A nasty
one in particular blurs the line separating Good from Evil. As an immortal
Brethren Warrior, though, he must retrieve the Elixxir before it falls into the
wrong hands. Just how he’s going to get it out of Callie’s is the big question.
Tempers flare as Callie and Nathanael reach out
to each other with their own hidden agendas. She needs his protection. He needs
the Elixxir. Will their fiery passion lead to lasting love, or will their web
of intrigue ultimately destroy them both? Secrets, lies, and love’s loyalties
tested. What price for immortality? What price for love?
LT’S REVIEW: Callie
has been stood up for months by Kemuel, so when he shows up with flowers she
slams the door in face. Little did she know her ex-lover was an angel on a
mission. Knowing he wouldn’t get anywhere with her now, he calls in his
brethren, Nathanael to take over the mission and get the Elixxir. Callie has been hurt more than any one person should experience in her short life, so now she has sworn off all men.
Nathanael
learns quickly of the danger Callie is in when she gets a call, 20 years overdue, from her father's lawyer to RUN and her apartment is blown up minutes
after they leave it. Callie has been running from the killers of her family because her
father purchased the Elixxir, which if taken can make you immortal and shouldn’t be
in the hands of mortals. E.L., the boss, sends his angels to get it and bring it to
the Beyond. The Beyond is where the angels are from.
Now
Nathanael has two missions, to get the Elixxir, and also to save Callie. There are three different types of
Brethren’s, Saviors, Warriors and Protectors. Protectors are the most powerful in groups
of three but they have been one angel down and now Nathanael is fighting a demon
of his own, with every kill he’s sliding closer to Satan.
MY RATING: 5
