Joining us for a Q&A today is Larissa Ione, the author to some of my (wendy) favorite books

Larissa, Thank you so much for joining us today. Let's get started with our Q&A.

Q1.  We understand that you are a true Star Trek fan, and even have a Star Trek tattoo. Would you tell us what and where it is?
It's the Vulcan IDIC -- my very first tattoo, and I was such a wuss that I never got it filled in. It's just an outline. Sad. It's on my abdomen near my right hip bone.

Q2. Do you collect Star Trek memorabilia and if so what is your favorite piece?
I used to collect it and had a TON of it. I had some amazing, rare pieces, like a plastic case filled with a hat, T-shirt, fun toys, etc., that was given out to winners of a radio station promotion for a visit to the set of Star Trek: The Next Generation. I also had the pen George Takei signed an autograph for me with, a glass James Doohan drank from, and a lot of other assorted weird stuff. Sadly, almost everything was lost in hurricane Katrina. I now mostly collect the Hallmark Star Trek ornaments.

Q3. You didn’t start reading romance books until in the Air Force and your roommate introduced you to them. What was the first book she got you to read and was kind of an impression did it have?
Funny -- that roommate is now my awesome assistant! :) She started me off on historical romances, and the first was Taming The Wolf, by Deborah Simmons. I loved it, and it kicked off my obsession with historical romances. I even wrote a couple before I turned to writing contemporary and paranormal romances.

Q4. What is your all time favorite eats and beverage?
Ooh, that's a hard one, because I've eaten so many amazing things, especially in my travels. If I had to narrow things down, I'd say that overall, pizza is my favorite food. There are so many variations, so many ways to prepare it. My favorite beverage? Beer. I love it. My favorite non-alcoholic drink is a tossup between coffee and flavored seltzer water. I go through a pot of coffee and at least 3 cans of seltzer a day.

Q5. If you are having one of those days that when the sun goes down you just don’t feel like you have accomplished what you wanted with your writing, do you stick with it several more hours or retire and try to recuperate?
It depends on how close to deadline I am. The closer I am, the more likely it is that I'll stick with it until the early hours of the morning if I have to.

Q6. What do you like to do for fun?
I read, watch TV, and play video games. In the summer, I spend time on our boat and make almost daily trips to the beach to let the dog swim in the lake.

Q7. Do you like to listen to music while you write?
No way. It distracts me. I find myself singing along instead of writing. Weird, but I CAN write with the TV on.

Q8. Bound by Night is a new series- can you tell us a little about it?

Bound By Night is the first book in the MoonBound Clan Vampires series about a slightly futuristic world in which vampires are enslaved by humans. The vampires are fighting not just for their freedom, but their very survival. A lot of clans live free, doing their best to fly under the humans' radar, and one of those clans is MoonBound. In Bound By Night, our hero, Riker, kidnaps a very important human from her home in order to use her to free another vampire before war breaks out between the vampire clans. I'm really excited about this book, and you can read more about it here: http://larissaione.com/blog/books/bound-by-night/

Q9. Writing as half of the Sydney Croft team do you write those books at the same time you are writing your own?   Website
Yes. We pass the manuscripts back and forth, so while Stephanie is writing on the Croft story, I can be working on my own books, and vise versa.

Q10. Will Reaver's book (out Nov 26, 13)  be set back in the UG world and will our favorite demons, werewolves & vampires show up in his book?
Everything you just said! :) Reaver's book will be a true cross between the Demonica and Lords of Deliverance books. The hospital and staff will feature prominently, and so will the Four Horsemen. Much of the book, however, will be set in Sheoul -- you'll definitely see more of that setting than you've seen in any of the Demonica and LOD novels.

Q11. Have we already met Reaver's love interest?
Yes. *g*     (seriously? am I the only one that doesn't know who she is for sure, I think I know who it is but, seriously how is that going to turn around and happen?? *wendy*

Q12. Besides the need for blood, what are some of the vampirism traits your vampires have in Bound by Night?

These vampires have no sensitivity to light and are not the traditional "dead" vamps. A virus is responsible for making them what they are, and they can either be born a vampire or turned into one. Born vampires are rare, and not easily distinguishable to humans because they look like normal people. Turned vampires, however, have silver eyes, which only temporarily revert to their true color when they're aroused. They feed on both humans and other vampires of the opposite sex. They also heal supernaturally fast, and every vampire possesses some sort of special ability. I had a lot of fun with these vamps!

Thank you so much for having me! It's a pleasure to be a guest at your blog!

    1. lol this troubles me in my every day life- seriously how can it turn around and be a "good" thing if it's who I think it is? I want her to be good but I def. don't want him to turn bad. Poor Reaver has been through so much already he needs someone to love and hold him

    2. Don't worry - Reaver won't turn bad, and she definitely turns good. Even though she will probably always have her "bad" moments. Of course, Reaver kind of likes her bad moments... :)

  27. Great interview, Larissa! Now, favorite character? Gosh that's a hard one because I love all of them, but I started with Wraith's book and fell in love with the Demonica series.
