Blurb: After she loses everything she has ever cared about ten years ago, Lily decides its time to find answers about her past and why she has special powers. But when you can’t control seeing the future, and you hold enough electricity inside you to black out an entire city block, it doesn’t always make life easy.
She swore she would never care about anyone ever again after that fateful day so long ago. Then she meets sexy club owner, Ashton Ryder. Lily can’t afford to fall for Ashton. Then there is handsome, powerful, Blake Moore, who wants to help her with more than just her powers. She has to learn to trust people and let them into her heart, even as things spiral out of control.
Not only does she learn Ashton has a secret that will make her question everything she ever thought was real, but Lily finds out that her birth parents are anything but ordinary. Just when Lily thinks she has everything figured out, someone is determined to destroy her – because she isn’t supposed to be alive.

Shonna's review: The leading lady, Lily of this story does not come across as a strong classic main character. Yet as the chapters unfold she grows as the story progresses. Her whole life has become a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle that she has to put together. Bit by bit facts have to be  fitted together in order to see the picture of her life, past, present and understand how this will form her future.  Containing a lot of drama, suspense, and perplexity, the triangle created by Lily and her two pursuers reveal worlds to Lily that she never knew existed.  The hot male characters, Blake and Ashton, unite to help uncover the information needed and ultimately are determined to keep Lily safe. Adding Lily's best friend, Sam, with a fun and devoted personality also helps Lily deal with the stress pushing and pulling her in all directions.

Without giving away to much, I really enjoyed the story and what Lily learns about herself. The plot has so many twists and turns and the book itself never stalls and always kept my interest. I do wish that the author had allowed a little more depth (into the background and understanding) of the two new worlds that have been introduced. For me this would have given richness to each species that play a very important  part of the puzzle Lily must solve. I am very glad I was given a chance to read this work of Emma Shade for a review, and want all to know that yes,.... you need to get a copy because I know that when you finish you will be anticipating the second installment of THE SECRETS SERIES just as I am.
My rating 4
