Every now and then I will read a book without reading the description or blurb and this was one of those times. I enjoyed the whole story and loved the Lash demons. In my opinion there is not anything much sexier than an alpha male who can show his softer side. 
We are pulled into the dark and dirty streets of Chicago where poverty is high but violence and danger are higher. Nicole and her younger sister Brooke know they are different but never realized they could be anything other than human. Both born with special abilities, they worked their whole lives learning to control them to use for the good. Thinking they are alone on a dark street they use their powers and draw attention of a Lash demon who is out on patrol. Gunnar, a Lash demon, is on Earth looking for demons who are causing problems. He is a part of an elite group of demons working to keep humans safe. 
With his first glance of Nicole he was hooked, he knew there was something different about her but he did not know what it was. Accidentally (on purpose) running into her at a nightclub draws them together in ways neither one expected, sparks fly and so do some clothes. To find out what Nicole and her sisters really are they must travel to a different realm to discover the answers they all seek.
