Deb has only been a vampire for about a year, and now she is married to her maker Aaron, who she hated before. While Deb is out looking for dinner, she hears the screams of a woman. Unlike any of the other vampire stories or movies you may have seen or heard about Vampires being cold and emotionless, Deb isn’t heartless. Actually she feels more now than she ever did when she was human. So she rushes to the woman's aid. Sadly she was too late to stop Billie Joyce from being stabbed by some men that had planned to rape her. On her death bed Billie Joyce thinking she is looking at an angel asks Deb not to let her die. Deb being torn gave her some of her blood.
Daniel is a very, very old vampire and has become bored with pretty much everything including sex. After making some not so good choices by taking in new vampires that their makers had died or left to fend for themselves. Now he has to deal with his latest charge, Deb's new changeling, Billie Joyce. And to make things worse she refuses to be called by one name because she is country girl. And country girls have two first names and love it.
