Becca an 18 year old girl moves to a new town and home after her mother’s death. She and her new friends thought it would be fun to call the ghosts that the town claimed lived there. Thinking they were unsuccessful her friends go home. But Becca soon learns not only did a ghost hear her but is now haunting her. He is her long lost husband from 100 years before and she is the one who killed him in another life, then took her own life.
Alastor has been stuck between death and being alive. In this nothingness, he is saved by the one person he has tried so hard to hate. She killed him, but did she have her reasons? This new Becca is different but the same, maybe they can start over. Sadly when he tries to touch her they both realize nothing will be the same. In their life together 100 years ago he made her promises that he wasn’t able to keep. He plans to keep them now but at what cost? Her sanity? Her life?
This for me was a very interesting story. It pulled me in from the beginning, but it also is a very dark story with a lot of death and sadness. My guess is they both owed each other something in the past and had to go through a lot to be together now.
