Cale is a cat shifting gargoyles. Once they meet their mate they are able to fight against a curse that was placed on his family. Without a mate they never see the sun because they turn into stone till the night falls again. Cale met his mate 80 yrs ago and then had to watch her die from a distance too far away to help her. Now his sole goal is to free his brother who got the worst of the curse, he has been stuck in stone for years. Cale believes the dagger and the sorceress who placed the curse on him can set him free. But little does he know he has been set up as a traitor and now the Immortal (police ) Huntress is after him.
Sorcha is a Huntress, her job is to kill any immortal who endangers them by exposing them to the humans. She has been given orders to kill Cale. When she meets him she is drawn to him, but doesn't know why, until Cale stares at her like he has seen a ghost.
After grabbing her and touching her to be sure she is real, he tells her of her death. Being a Huntress Sorcha knows shes cant have love, so at first she thinks he's mistaken, then she realizes she faked her own death. But Huntress memories are deleted every 100 years, leaving the question,... why did she fake her death?
