Shonna's review:  Painful secrets from the past hang over the Triple C as the Cavanaugh bloodline gathers for their father’s funeral. Deacon, James, and Cole, seem ready to turn their backs when it comes to wanting to run the established ranch their father built in River Run, Texas. With the Will being read, a new deception is revealed thickening the plot and changing what was thought to be a cut and dry inheritance.
The need to wipe away the past is strong for the Cavanaugh men, but Mackenzie Byrd, the ranch foreman, is determined to find another way. Fighting to win her home, she also loses her heart to the successfully rich and powerful Deacon Cavanaugh along the way.
When I first got this I thought, there is no way I am going to be able to read this. Why? Because at first I couldn’t bring myself to take my eyes of the sizzling hot cover. After wiping off drool running down my chin, I turned to the first chapter. BAM! I was a goner. I was a prisoner to Laura Wright’s book to the very end. And WHOA, what a cliffhanger on the last page. I was like, NOooooooooo. Hot cowboys, murder, suspense, steamy sex, hurtful personal suffering, deceit, love, along with fantastic characters deliver a phenomenal story that is one you don’t want to overlook.
A huge fan of this new series, I can not wait for the next installment. Come on October!
