BLURB: Caught between desire and loyalty...
When a sexy stranger asks questions about her brother, Emilie Garza is torn between loyalty to the brother she once idolized and fear of the war-changed man he's become. Derek's easy smile and quiet strength tempt Emilie to open up, igniting the desire between them and leading Derek to crave a woman he shouldn't trust.
As the team's investigation reveals how powerful their enemies are, Derek and Emilie must prove where their loyalties lie before hearts are broken and lives are lost. Because love is too hard to come by to let slip away...
Review: Derek DiMarzio is one of the best male characters I have ever read about.
Caring, handsome, funny, sensitive, and an amputee. But despite missing part of
his leg, he couldn’t be more perfect. He couldn’t be more sexy. He couldn’t be
more of a man, a whole man. I think he will always have a piece of my heart. The
past several months has been a lot of pain and adjustment for not only him, but
for his four remaining military brothers of the Army Special Forces unit. Trying
to get the answers they need to right the wrongs to clear their names isn’t easy. Yet picking up the pieces they are pulling back together and
are determined to see this mission through.
Even though Derek and Emilie’s story didn’t start out with honesty, they
were able to soon believe, trust and understand one another and the situation.
The love that grew between them was strong, compassionate and a new beginning
for both of them. Not to mention,... freakin steamy HOT!
While this story brought some sad goodbyes, it also gave us some
interesting hellos. I very much look forward to hearing more about Detective
Kyler Vance in future installments. Another heart stopping moment came with a
confession from Easy, (one of the outstanding characters in this series) shared with a special someone. OMG, I want to cry just thinking about it.
The emotional prism that Laura Kaye continually brings out in her books
never fails to have me bouncing all over the place with such deep and sincere
feelings that by the end of the book I honestly can not explain how much I
appreciate her work. This series is FANTASTIC and you are truly missing out if
you haven’t read it.
