Excerpt:
“You’re
not going to die, Aaron.”
“You
don’t know that. This sickness, ailment, curse…whatever the fuck it is. It’s
gettin’ worse. And it’s changin’. Morphin’ into somethin’ scary. My nightmares
lately have been horrible.”
“What
kind of nightmares?” Of course, Jaret knew. They were the same kind all of them
had during the change. Fire and ice as the body went through horrendous chills
and soaring high fevers. They would only stop once the change was complete. For
after that, there was no real sleep anymore.
“Bein’
caught on high mountains, pelted with snow. Of the forests here bright with
orange fire. Of you—” His voice broke. “Callin’ out my name only I’m no longer
here to respond.”
“Babe,”
Jaret said in a soft voice, not understanding why but knowing he was closer to
this drakyl than he had ever been to anyone. “We’re going to get you cured.
Then you can come out with me at night. We’ll keep the place predator free
while your cousins slave in the sun. How does that sound?”
A
sad attempt at a laugh left the other man’s throat. “Promise me you won’t leave
until I’m gone?”
Fury
swept along Jaret’s veins. Anger at the sun, the fact the man next to him was
terrified, and at Davis for not explaining to the poor man earlier what he
was. But mostly, he was furious at
himself for not telling Aaron the truth. Leaning in, he placed his nose against
Aaron’s. “I promise you,” he said in a deep growl, “that you are not going to
die, Aaron Drakyl. I won’t let it happen.”
About the
author:
Thianna loves to
write strong stories with even stronger heroes. While all of her books have an
erotic overtone, it is the story that is the most important to her. “The story
should be able to stand on its own. The erotic elements are an add-on.”
She enjoys
writing about couples with kink, paranormal couples, and straight out
strangeness. But more on that later… You can find her at mm.thiannad.com.
She also writes
m/f under the name Thianna D.

Q&A
1. Why did you choose to write M/M stories ?
You know, it was a surprise, the first time I wrote one. I had never read an M/M story and I was, at the time, writing fanfiction. One of my stories, I wasn’t sure who I was going to pair my character with and then about 7 chapters in, it hit me. And it felt natural writing it. At that point, I started reading M/M and quickly became hooked. There’s just something wonderful about writing (and reading) M/M.
2. Where do you find your inspiration ?
My muse is an interesting creature. I would like to say we find it in everything, but the fact is, I feel like the stories go directly from some cosmic something-or-other to my hand and I’m the first reader of any of my stories. When I first start a book, I rarely know what the storyline is going to be or who the characters are. I poise my fingers above the keys and wait for a word of phrase to come to me and then whoosh! My fingers start to fly across the keys. I love starting a new book – it’s kind of a high :)
3. What is for you the perfect book hero?
I love guys who have faults. Sounds weird, right? But I do love heroes who don’t have it all together and need the help of another hero to get it all together. Which is probably why one of my favourite characters of all time is Indiana Jones – he can fight with the best of them and is terrified if snakes. Gotta love it.
4. When you start a book, do you already have the whole story in your head or is it built progressively ?
For the most part, I’m a pantser. I have no idea of the plot of even the characters at the beginning. With my series Drakyl Ranch, I’m learning to plot as I had to work everything out over the six books to make sure all the plot points needed were fit in. Now I’m working with my muse to cooperate as he pouts when I try to figure out the storyline before he tells it to me.
5. Do you pay attention to literary criticism?
Yes and no. Criticism that has merit from people, betas, reviewers I trust? Yes, I pay attention. I may or may not agree, but I do listen and weigh their words.
6. The days are 25 hours. How do you spent that extra hour?
Writing of course. There just aren’t enough hours in the day to write. Just think of the new scene I could get done…
7. What is the book you would bring with you on a desert island?
Don’t laugh – The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I loved C.S. Lewis as a child and still love his Narnia series.
8. When and why did you begin writing?
From the moment I learned the alphabet, I’ve been penning something or other. I still have one of my first stories about a martian who comes to earth. I even drew the little guy in the corner of the page.
9. If you were not a writer what else would you like to have done?
I’ve held several careers in my life, but nothing comes close to the passion I have for writing. However, I am also a Reiki Master/Trainer and I would make that my life’s work if writing wasn’t my #1 passion.
10. Can you share something about your works in progress?
Oh, fun ! *rubs hands together*
Well, I’m finishing Drakyl Ranch. Gotta love vampires, cowboys, and vampire cowboys ;) When complete, it will be six books.
I’m also working on a series called The Men of Falcon Pointe. The first two books, 959 Brenton Street and Finding His Home have been accepted by Dreamspinner Press and will be out this coming Winter. I’m currently working on books 3 & 4. Amusingly enough, the first draft of book 4 will be done before I finish book 3.
The secret stuff : (shh, it’s a secret *grins*)
Besides those two heavy projects, I’m writing a series about two men who are thrown together, have to make it work, and find out what makes love tick. It looks like it will be four books by the time I’m done.
And I’ve created and am a part of a secret series that won’t be out until starting Aug/Sept 2016. Can you say M/M Contemporary Action/Suspense Romance ? Oh come on, say it ten times fast :D And prepare for a wild ride. We have seven amazing authors so far and the series is gonna be awesome !
